It’s only taken 6 months but Yahoo, Inc. (YHOO)! has finally done something with their purchase of IndexTools and it could be a little troubling for Google, Inc. (Goog).

Yahoo, Inc. (YHOO) has announced that they will begin to roll out Yahoo Web Analytics on a limited basis beginning this week.

Yahoo, Inc. (YHOO)! Web Analytics provides website owners with insight into sales, ad performance and traffic sources through real-time reports and graphs.

Although it is very similar to Google, Inc. (Goog) Analytics many have described IndexTools as being a more superior product - good news for Yahoo, Inc. (YHOO)!

Yahoo, Inc. (YHOO)! outlines why this new product is more superior to the competition (Google, Inc. (Goog) Analytics) in its FAQ:

• Real-time Data: “While some analytics products provide data 24-48 hours after collection, Yahoo, Inc. (YHOO)! Web Analytics reflects data within minutes of collection.”

• Raw Data: “While some products store aggregated data, which restricts the usefulness of the data to pre-created or canned reports, Yahoo, Inc. (YHOO)! Web Analytics stores data in non-aggregatedraw form.”

• Ease-of-Use and Flexibility

Yahoo, Inc. (YHOO)! Web Analytics will be available for free to 13,000 e-commerce customers hosting under the Yahoo, Inc. (YHOO) Small Business service and then the rest of us will have to wait until late 2008 or even 2009 to use it.
